Fox River starts on eighth season

On 4 April, Stuyvesant Projects Realization Inc. (a part of Boskalis Environmental)started the eighth consecutive season op processing PCB-contaminated sediments from the Lower Fox River OU2-5 remediation project. As in previous seasons, restart of our sediment desanding and dewatering plant went entirely according to plan. So far, more than 3.8 million cubic yards of contaminated sediment have been processed from which sand is separated and recycled. In addition to our previously completed Miami River project, this Lower Fox River project is currently the only sediment remediation operation in the USA where sand is extracted from contaminated sediment and approved for beneficial reuse in local infrastructure (highway expansion) projects.
