On Monday, 10 October, Boskalis Environmental and HVC officially opened the washing plant for incinerator bottom ash. The fully integrated dry reprocessing and wet washing of bottom ash that separates significantly higher amounts of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, producing a freely applicable building material from the sand and granulate that is separated, is a global first. To commemorate this unique event, the plant was officially opened by the director-general of Environment and International of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, Mr. Chris Kuijpers, in the presence of shareholders and directors of HVC and Boskalis, and many branch colleagues of both companies.
